The start of studies for 3rd generation of the High Security and Defence Studies

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic attended the ceremony marking the start of the training participants 3 high security and defense studies at the amphitherater of the Center for Simulation and Distance Learning Military Academy .

The ceremony was attended by the Minister in charge of Kosovo and Metohija Aleksandar Vulin , State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic , who, with the Minister of Energy, Development and Environment Zoran aMihajlovic and Finance Minister Lazar Krstic , greeted the 3rd generation of the highest level development of the national security system .

With them , there are 15 participants High Security Studies and the Assistant Minister of the Interior , four Serbian Army officers , three state officers and two students from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia , as well as a civil servant of the Republic of Macedonia .

Expressing his pleasure at being in the presence of students of the High Security and Defence Studies, Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic said that the organization of this level of training of specific military education is in line to the obligations of the national security strategy , which, among other things , requires the coordinated performance in the areas of foreign , economic and social policy, defense , internal security , and other areas of social life .

- Structure of the participants reflected the demands of these studies, confirming that the security and defense of the country are indivisible state issues surpassing the competences of individual ministries . A preventative , efficient and inter-sector approach to these issues is the most appropriate response to the changing security environment and a growing number of challenges in the modern society as Rodic observed..

Evidently , said the Minister of Defence , human resources are a major competitive advantage in the global market , so for any security system human resources are a key factor.

- It seems impossible or it is hard to find something more important than education , and thus the knowledge acquired is an irreversible value and intellectual capital . It is now a continuous and never ending process and it can be seen from our programs and commitments of Serbia , and of course the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces - said Minister Rodic , highlighting the importance of the participants as officers and members of the armed forces from the region , which is evidence that national and regional security mutually dependent .

Addressing the participants , the Minister Rodic said that during the training , to be able to observe from a different perspective of the challenges facing the system of security and defense in the country and in the region and beyond.

- Your training is an expression of the confidence of your superiors , regardless of honorable functions currently carried out , but also your responsibility and obligation because it opens prospects to be among the most responsible in the security and defense. Therefore , doing the responsible and dedicated to increasing its own capacity for future contribution to a better life and to new generations leave a more beautiful and richer homeland and to strengthen regional ties - said the minister cousin.

According to the head VSBO Colonel Slobodan Joksimovic activity during development is based on two pillars - Maintaining the high quality of teaching and providing the best conditions for the work and life of the participants.

- The training program is adapted to the changing environment, and this year we will focus on security management system to prepare security and defense systems arising from the process of negotiations for membership to the European Union - said the colonel Joksimovic , adding that the changes are reflected in the choice of speakers in this generation .

At the end of the ceremony , the Chief of the Military Academy , Major General Mladen Vuruna presented a acknowledgment to defense attaché of the British Colonel William English for his contribution to the work of the high security and defence studies.
