Cooperation of the Defence University and the University in Maribor
Rectors of the University of Defence and the University of Maribor, Lt. Gen. prof . Dr. Miodrag Jevtic and prof . Dr. Daniel Rebolj , signed today a cooperation agreement which provides a starting point for establishing a relationship between the two higher education and research institutions. In this document both sides have expressed agreement in establishing cooperation in the scientific research, exchange of professors , students and faculty members .On this occasion , General Jevtic said that the Ministry of Defence fully supports the establishment of cooperation with the University of Maribor and that , by signing the agreement, the established conditions to make concrete steps that would go in favor of strengthening the scientific and educational capacities of both institutions. General Jevtic said that University of Defense today made official start of cooperation with one of the major universities in Europe .
- We've identified some important areas where we can cooperate with mutual benefit. With the Chancellor Rebolj and his associates , we exchanged the initial idea and agreed that today's signing of the Agreement is only a part of the basis for a number of ideas, initiatives and proposals for cooperation , with the aim of improving the educational process in the region and in our two states - said Jevtic .The Chancellor of the University of Maribor prof . Dr. Rebolj expressed satisfaction today by the agreement signed stressing he was looking forward to future cooperation and initial joint activities . He stressed that cooperation starts with concrete , not abstract steps and that the most important thing is good quality basis .
The signing was preceded by a meeting between the two delegations during which the capacities and organization of Defence University and University of Maribor were presented together with an exchange of ideas on possibilities for concrete cooperation .
