Seminar on distance learning
The Center for Simulation and Distance Learning held a third expert meeting for the representatives of the Education and Training in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces where they presented electronic courses and materials exhibited on a platform for distance learning , results and perspectives in the field of mobile learning and experience acquired in the training of teachers and training providers to use platform
The seminar , which brought together about one hundred representatives from all organizational units of MoD and SAF , engaged in education and training was devoted to the analysis of project learning in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, its results, current activities and plans for the next two years. Furthermore, courses and other educational options , available for online learning, that is on the distance learning platform .Opening this year's event , Col. Goran Simic , head of the Center for Simulation and Distance Learning, said that , unlike the two previous seminars , this seminar aims at the analysis of all the work done so far and at developing the possibilities for mobile learning in the future.
- I hope that the information you get here will not only help in understanding the growing importance of distance learning , but also in creating a synergy of all actors in the chain of education and training , in order for all the great resources that we have established and electronic contents we have made , to be used in the best way to strengthen the system of defense and security , through interoperability, respectable quality and professionalism . That would allow more intense involvement of our armed forces into the mainstream of maintaining peace in the region and the world , said Col. Simic.
The chancellor of the University of Defence Lt. Gen. prof . Dr. Miodrag Jevtic said that the seminar aims at informing about the results achieved in the process of learning , whose importance in the modern world is constantly growing .
The seminar focused on the training of teachers and instructors in using the paltform for learning, including promoting the process of units and institutions of the Serbian Army , the design and quality of the electronic courses , as well as participation in international activities related to learning, the development of applications for mobile learning . It was pointed out that all scheduled tasks had been realized, with 85 members of the MoD and trained for the application of distance learning in education and training, three courses in English and two in the Serbian language had been held in relation to peacekeeping operations and several courses for undergraduate studies and High Defence and Security Studies .The conclusion of the seminar was that in all of these areas of activity in the future a step further should be made, something the Center for Simulations and Distance Learning has sufficient professional knowledge , strength and capabilities for.
