A seminar for persons of trust
At the opening of the seminar speakers were State Secretary of Defense Miistarstvu Zoran Djordjevic , Commissioner for Equality Nevena Petrušić , Regional Manager of UN Women Agency Edwin Berry and Head of the Strategic Planning Department of Security Policy , Major General Mitar Kovac.State Secretary in MoD said that the purpose of the seminar is to provide a practical contribution to the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council on "Women, Peace and Security" in the Republic of Serbia regarding the establishment of a mechanism " person of trust " and to contribute to further promoting its improvement and sustainability in practice . He added that this type of training should be an integral part of the activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and in the following year .
The seminar participants were elected " persons of trust " in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces , Directorate for Execution of Criminal Sanctions of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration and Security Information Agency , appointed gender advisors in ministries , departments and agencies responsible for implementing the National Action Plan president of the Commission to monitor the implementation of the NAP of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia .Establishing a mechanism of " persons of trust " will enable the provision of practical assistance to employees to prevent discrimination and gender inequality . The implementation of this seminar , aimed at educating " people of trust’, is improve their competence in the field of gender equality and to increase their knowledge on gender discrimination and the mechanisms to combat discrimination.
