The start of clearing rubble in the collapsed building of GS
Tomorrow on 26 November the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will start clearing the rubble of the building "B" of the old General Staff building, on the corner of streets Kneza Miloša and Nemanjina.
Construction works will include clearing of collapsed remains of a reinforced concrete structure of the building from the basement to the top of the block - the annex. The ministry wishes to stress that during the execution of the works the safety of passersby , transportation and personnel will be the top priority.
The Ministry of Defence has obtained all necessary permits and papers from the relevant institutions of the city . The works are scheduled to last for 70 working days . The total gross area of the building " B " scheduled for clearing covers approximately 2,100 m2 .
The works will be carried out by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. The main contractor is the military construction agency "Belgrade " , the investor is the military construction center while the SAF will secure the site in terms of pyrotechnic measures.
