Defence minister meets with the ambassador of Egypt

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic met today with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Belgrade HE Menho Mahrus Bahum .

The necessity to improve the traditionally good relations between Serbia and Egypt was emphasized as well as the common interest for strengthening cooperation. It was concluded that it is necessary to establish the continuity of high-level visits in order to define the strategic direction and ensure stable cooperation.

We discussed the details of the draft agreement on cooperation in the field of defense , the inking of which will significantly improve bilateral military cooperation. The most important areas of cooperation such as military-military cooperation, military education and military medical cooperation and exchange of experiences on participation in UN peacekeeping missions were pointed out. Minister Rodic proposed that a residential defence attache office to the Arab Republic of Egypt in Belgrade be opened in order to further strengthen cooperation in the field of defense.

It emphasizes the importance of further development of military economic cooperation , as well as maintaining the continuity of the Joint Military Committee for Cooperation's sessions in the field of defense. Another proposal is for the Egyptian expert delegation to visit Serbia to get acquainted with the capacities of the defense industry.
