Ministers of defence of Serbia and BIH meet

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic met today with the Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zekerijah Osmic.

The two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the existing good cooperation in the field of defense , stating that there are reasonable grounds for its significant improvement. The focal fields of cooperation are education and training , military , military economic, cultural and sports cooperation .

Currently there are 4 members of the BiH armed forces at different levels of advancement members of the Armed Forces, whereas in the period 2010 till now, 14 members of BiH armed forces have completed similar trainings. There are plans to intensify this form of cooperation , as well as the training of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Center for advancing RCBD personnel in Krusevac , and the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the center for training and participation in peacekeeping operations Butmir .

" By expanding the scope of the cooperation and exchange of experiences, experts and engagement of teachers in the National Training Center to participate in peacekeeping operations in Butmir and Belgrade we will create the basis for a possible joint involvement in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the UN and the EU ," said Minister Rodic stressing his willingness to consider the possibility of implementing joint military simulation or field exercises in line with both sides’ needs , both on a bilateral basis , and with the participation of members of the armed forces of its neighbors in the region .

Engaging in activities within the forum for cooperation in the defense of the Western Balkans , Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia through the project approach promotes the capacity and capability to develop into regional centers of the Military Medical Academy , the Military Hospital in Nis , base "Jug " and the Center for the destruction of ammunition and weapons - Technical Overhaul Institute (TRZ ) Kragujevac , and in this way can develop new forms of cooperation .

In addition to the mutual conclusion that it is possible to expand the military economic cooperation , minister Osmić stressed that the fact that the defense industry in BiH based on the entity level , should not be an obstacle to the realization of mutual interests wherever possible.

The two ministers established the procedure for finding a solution as soon as possible the employment status of professional military personnel in Bosnia and Herzegovina , the former members of the 30th Personnel Center , which has hampered the realization of rights from pension and disability insurance (bonding of insurance ) .

Stressing that this is more than an ordinary partnership , the objective circumstances and demand , regular meetings at the ministerial level were arranged twice a year .

During his two-day visit to the Republic of Serbia, Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zekerijah Osmić will visit the University of Defense and the Military Medical Academy .
