General Dikovic at the US Adriatic Charter conference



Serbian Army Chief General Ljubisa Diković is participating in the 17th Conference of Chiefs of the US -Adriatic Charter,  held today in Sarajevo .

In addition to the Chief of Staff of the US - Adriatic Charter ( Albania , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Macedonia, Croatia and Montenegro ) , the conference is also attended by the deputy commander of the European Command and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovenia .

At this year's conference , general Diković and members of the delegation of the Serbian Army , which he led , presented the capacities of the base "Jug ", where in mid 2014 a multinational exercise " Platinum wolf 2014" will be held with the participation of the U.S. marine forces , the Ohio National Guard and the armed forces of several countries in the region .

The conference is an opportunity for the participants in separate discussions to exchange views on topical issues of international military cooperation. General Diković spoke with the deputy commander of the US armed forces U.S. Vice - Admiral Charles Martolla . Participation in the US- Adriatic Charter provides a good framework for the promotion of cooperation and understanding in the region , as well as strengthening the capacity of countries in the region to provide a common response to security challenges , risks and threats . The Republic of Serbia in this initiative has had observer status since December 2006.
