Honorary salvo on occasion of the Armistice Day



On the occasion of the Day of the Truce in the First World War – 11th November, the members of the Guard of the Serbian Armed Forces fired nine honorary gun salute from six artillery guns on the Savska Terrace in Kalemegdan Park.

The honorary artillery gun salute was attended by the Minister of Defence Nebojša Rodić, Chief of General Staff General Ljubiša Diković, Commander of the Guard Brigadier General Milomir Todorović and numerous citizens, among whom many with children.

The members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will participate in marking of the Day of the Truce on 11th November by wreath-laying ceremony to the Unknown Soldier Monument on Avala Mountain and in the complex of the New Cemetery at the French Military Cemetery, at the Memorial Crypt of the Belgrade Defenders in the First World War, at the Memorial Crypt of the Russian soldiers killed in the First World War and at the Commonwealth War Graves.

Since last year, in Serbia, the Day of the Truce in the First World War has been celebrated as a public holiday and a non-working day in memory of all the innocent killed from 1914 to 1918.
