Expert Discussion on Standardization
Organized by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Codification of the Department for Defence Technologies of the Material Resources Sector an expert discussion was held on "Application of the rulebook on standardization in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces".The meeting was attended by the representatives of the organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Serbian defence industry and the Serbian Institute for Standardization.
The expert discussion was opened by Head of the Department for Defence Technologies, Prof. Brigadier General Bojan Zrnic, while Director of the Directorate, Colonel Zoran Spasojevic, spoke about the concept of material standardization in the field of defence.
The main objective of the expert discussions was to examine the current state of the function of standardization in the defence system in the light of the implementation of the new rulebook and to exchange the experiences with the Serbian Institute for Standardization in relation to the standard setting procedure. Attention was drawn to the speech about the position of the Serbia Institute for Standardization in the process of European integration and its participation in the process of adoption of international and European standards.The function of standardization has an important role in the defence system and is recognized as the main lever to strengthen internal military organization. It is implemented for the purpose of strengthening the defence capabilities of the country, the optimal use of defence capabilities and achieving the required level of interoperability with partner countries. At the end of the meeting, a roadmap was adopted with defined activities for further development of standardization in the defence system.
