Meeting between defence ministers of Serbia and Croatia



Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic spoke today with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia Ante Kotromanovic. At the meeting they pointed out that the defence and security cooperation was very successful form of cooperation between the two countries. Focal areas of cooperation between Serbia and Croatia in the field of defence include the exchange of experiences on participation in multinational operations, transformation of the armed forces, logistics, nuclear, biological and chemical defence and implementation of Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System.

"The Republic of Serbia is interested in improving military education and military medical cooperation, and the establishment of military economic cooperation and joint appearance on third markets", Minister Rodic said.

The defence ministers discussed about possible joint involvement in multinational operations, as well as the experiences of the Republic of Croatia in the improvement of the administrative capacities within the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy.

Ministers Rodic and Kotromanovic underlined that bilateral relations between Serbia and Croatia are of particular importance for the future of the region. Croatia's accession to the European Union was assessed as a powerful stimulus for the European perspective of the region. Appreciation was expressed for the support by the Republic of Croatia to our country on this path.
