Minister of Defence meets the Ambassador of France

Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic and French Ambassador to Belgrade Francois Xavier Deniau have had talks in Belgrade today.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the bilateral defence cooperation is intense. Joint training and participation in multinational missions under the auspices of the European Union was underlined as the most important point of the cooperation. In addition, among the important areas of bilateral defence cooperation are also military education, military economic and scientific and technical cooperation.

"The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia is strongly committed to continued cooperation with the Republic of France in the field of EU multinational missions. We are planning to deploy one officer of the Serbian Armed Forces within the multinational headquarters in the EU ATALANTA operation", Minister Rodic said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Deniau formally invited Minister Rodic to participate in the seminar in Paris in October that will address activities to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War.

The interlocutors emphasized that the relations between Serbia and France are traditionally good and agreed that the cooperation should be intensified in all areas in the future.
