Assistant Minister Jovanovic meets with the ambassador of the Netherlands
Assistant Minister for Defence Miroslav Jovanovic and HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands E . Loren Louis Stokvis exchanged views on cooperation between the two ministries of defense today during a meeting at the Ministry of Defence.Assistant Minister Jovanovic said that Serbia appreciates and acknowledges the support of the Netherlands to the start of Serbia EU accession talks. He said that the experience of the Netherlands in the negotiation process will contribute significantly to speeding up the talks.
Past cooperation in defense has been good and is mainly conducted through supporting the development of the NCO corps, developing the capacities of civil- military relations and civil-military cooperation , the implementation of humanitarian law in armed conflicts and exchange of experiences on gender equality.
Jovanovic called upon the Dutch side that active participation in the Working Group Serbia - NATO Partnership contribute to achieving the goals of Serbia .
Ambassador of the Netherlands Stokvis has expressed the interest of the Netherlands to continue supporting the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia in particular in the main areas of cooperation. He added that the Netherlands wants to continue cooperation in training NCOs through concrete projects.At the end of the meeting a mutual agreement has been that the future period be devoted to finding new modalities of cooperation as part of the assistance provided by the Ducth Ministry of Defence to the Ministry of Defence of Serbia .
