SAF help in extinguishing fire in Novi Pazar



The fire, which broke out around 22:00 last night in the old quarters of Novi Pazar and destroyed "Smailbegovic han", one of the oldest buildings in the old quarter, which is a site under state protection, was extinguished with the help of the members of the 28th mechanized battalion of Serbia.

At the invitation of the Mayor of Novi Pazar, Dr. Meha Mahmutovic, the commander of the 2nd Army Brigade Commander Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic has approved the engagement of the 2 brigade to extinguish the fire.

Members of the 28th mechanized battalion quickly became involved in the fire, where one fire department was deployed and one fire fighting vehicle.

The fire was successfully localized, did not spread to neighboring homes and buildings, and there were no injured persons or casualties. For a quick response and the assistance in extinguishing the fire, the mayor of Novi Pazar, expressed gratitude to the 2 Army Brigade.

In this operation in addition to the 28th mechanized battalion the fire brigade of the department for emergency situations in Novi Pazar which cooperates with the 2 Army Brigade, as confirmed by previous fire fighting operations, not only in the territory of Novi Pazar, but also the entire territories, under the responsibility of the Brigade – in Kraljevo, Cacak, Uzice, Valjevo, Sjenica, Raska, Nova Varos and Priboj.
