Cooperation with NATO Joint Forces Command



First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with the Commander of the NATO Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral Bruce Clingan.

At the beginning of the meeting Vucic expressed his satisfaction with the previous cooperation with the NATO Joint Forces Command and its improvement through the implementation of joint activities in the process of engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Defence appreciates professional and expert assistance in the process of training and supervision of the state of preparedness of units according to the Operational Capabilities Concept and standards for deployment in multinational peacekeeping operations, Vucic stressed.

Minister of Defence confirmed previously defined positions on the need for further engagement of KFOR in creating a safe environment for all citizens in Kosovo and Metohija, and the Serbian Armed Forces will second an officer to the staff position in the NATO Joint Force Command Naples.

The Republic of Serbia continues its active participation in the Partnership for Peace Programme, reform of the security and defence sector, as well as further development of the integrity of institutions of the system through the confirmed acceptance of our Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme. The capacities of the defence system are open to partners for mutual benefit.

Admiral Clingan confirmed the excellent relations at all levels, especially with the General Staff and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia. The analysis has been done in the KFOR area of responsibility and the assurance has been given that the KFOR troops will engage in the execution of all tasks.
