Communique
Vice President and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic received today the Ambassador of Italy Armando Varichio, ending his office in Serbia.
On this occasion, Vice President Vucic thanked the ambassador for his contribution to the improvement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, which has provided support to Serbia's EU integrations so far, as well as investments in Italian companies.
Ambassador Varricchio said that during his office, Serbia has made significant progress in meeting the requirements for membership in the EU. In particular, he praised the work of the Serbian government, whose results had exceeded all expectations. He emphasized that Serbia is part of the European family therefore it deserved to get a date to start negotiations for EU membership.
