Open Day in Pancevo and Sabac
In Pancevo barracks "Rastko Nemanjic", which houses the Special Brigade of the Serbian Army, the traditional event, held in all the garrisons and units of the Army of Serbia with the aim of making the lives of its members and citizens more familiar to the citizens of Serbia was attended by the citizens of Pancevo and surrounding areas, but
In addition to the Special Brigade in the organization the units of the Pancevo garrison - 333 Engineer Battalion, part 250 antiaircraft missile brigade in action and 204 pilots aviation brigade from Batajnica also took part in the event.
The activities in the shooting ground attracted most visitors, where in addition to overcoming obstacles of sabotage, members of the Army of Serbia also demonstrated their skills in rural and urban areas.
- I liked combat vehicles best. I walked into all of them, and I can not wait to grow up so I can drive them - said Aleksandar Pajic, who came with their parents.
Jeeps, snipers, weapons ...We liked all of it. Especially the rocket launchers - says Miroslav Petrovic who came with his friends.
The girls were delighted with the dynamic part of the program, and for Mirjana, Stefana and Milica parachute jumps were the most attractive part.
- We saw all three jumps and the last one was the best because the paratroopers were carrying flags, the three girls exclaimed.
"Open Day", was also organized by members of the 1st pontoon battalion of the River Flotilla, in Sabac in barracks "Cerski junaci” was attended by citizens of Sabac and surrounding areas, with the students from numerous primary and secondary schools being in the audience.
In addition to small arms and equipment, the visitors of had the opportunity to learn about the various types of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, as well as equipment for mine warfare used by the members of the pontoon battalion.
The visitors’ interest peaked for specialized vessels, tugs, boats with outboard motors and amphibious carriers. In addition, visitors saw a large part of engineering machinery used for construction and maintenance of roads, and penetrating snowdrifts like the ones from last year that nearly stopped traffic in Macva when the members of the Sabac battalion rushed to assistance.
Several hundred visitors, who attended the "Open Day" with a tour of the Memorial Room, with a tour of the exhibits, became also acquainted with the history of the unit, while in the temporary clinic, set up in the barracks the visitors could check their blood pressure.
