Minister with missile unit members in Zuce on Easter morning
First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic visited the barracks, "Major Dragutin Gavrilovic" in Zuce, where the on-duty members of antiaircraft missile batteries celebrated Easter.The visit was attended by Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army Ljubisa Dikovic as well as the commander of Air Force Major-General Ranko Zivak.Congratulating holiday unit members, Minister Vucic on Easter breakfast with our military missile expressed gratitude for protecting our country and proving their courage every day.
- I am proud that 250 Brigade has shown great heroism, and I wish you clear skies and better equipment and weapons - said the defense minister, adding that members of the unit had complemented their readiness to respond to tasks with good cooperation with other armies in Europe.
The Minister also announced the promotion of our systems, purchasing modern weapons and equipment, primarily for fighter aviation in the years to come especially air defence systems. - We now have a large number of rockets that protect our skies, and I am convinced that further development, and teaching and training in a clear manner will deflect anyone who would think of attacking Serbia or threatening its people – as minister Vucic said, adding that our country is committed to peace and development of good relations with everyone in the world, but also has the experience that you should always be prepared to protect its territory.
The Serbian Armed Forces, said the Minister Vucic, is the most serious and responsible institution in the world, but also the institution of the highest reputation in our country, as can be seen every day, and the task of the Government is to ensure that the Army has the means to protect its people and the land, which is something it will work on in the coming months.
According to him, when it comes to ground forces in the region it is difficult to find the army as prepared as SAF.The modernization of the armed forces, as Minister Vucic said, and resolution of the political problems are the focus of Serbian government in the future. In addition, the Minister said that the Government will find the best possible deal and the model for the purchase of new equipment and weapons.
During his visit, Minister Vucic attended the presentation of combat duty missile batteries, and the commander of 250th Rocket Brigade, Brigadier General Dusko Zarkovic presented to the Minister of Defense and General Dikovic with model rockets "Dvina".
