Reception at the Serbian President's on the occasion of Serbian Armed Forces Day
On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic gave a reception today at the Serbian Presidency building for the most responsible officials of the defence system. The reception at the Presidency was attended by the Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Chief of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, state secretaries, assistant defence ministers, members of the Collegium and the most responsible officers of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.Congratulating the holiday to the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, President Nikolic recalled of the traditions of our military, encouraging its members to perform their duties in accordance with them. Patriotism, code of ethics, concern for others, self-sacrifice, have always been characteristics of the Serbian Army, and will remain so, he said.
- Serbia is cooperating with many armies in the world and training and education is open for you as a book – President Nikolic said adding that the state representatives will strive to ensure the lacking part of technology, warning that the state must not neglect the army, especially the financial and social status of its members. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the participation of our troops in multinational operations, noting that it is a new quality.- We are doing our best to eliminate the security risks in the territory of the Balkans, I would say, especially of Serbia. We will have different types of challenges, but I hope that we will not have conflicts with other armies – President Nikolic said, wishing all the members of our military to live a life in peace, as it is a sign that our children will live in peace.
At the end of the meeting, on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day, General Dikovic presented President Nikolic with model of MiG 29 aircraft.
