Course on Gender in Multinational Operations



5 – day Course ‘Gender in Multinational Operations’ began in the Peacekeeping Operations Center on 1 April, 2013.

Course goal is to qualify participants to work on duties in MnOp, in accordance with the UN, EU and NATO standards regarding gender perspective, in order to provide gender mainstreaming in performing tasks and activities in MnOp and increase operational efficiency and better understanding of gender requirements and problems of the local population in the area of multinational operations.

The Course is conducted by an instructor team and lecturers from the Peacekeeping Operations Center, organizational units of MoD, Serbian Ministry of Interior, UN Agency for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN WOMEN), UN Development Program (UNDP), Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and civil society organizations, according to the structure of the Course Program and subject list with content.

This year’s Course has 30 participants – five from the MoD, 15 from the SAF, five from the Ministry of Interior, two from the Criminal Police Academy, two from the Security Faculty and one from the Faculty of Political Sciences.

Course ‘Gender in Multinational Operations’ was officially opened by the Chief of the Peacekeeping Operations Center, Colonel MSc Milivoje Pajovic, with presence of Mr. Edwin Berry, UN WOMEN regional project coordinator, and chief inspector Zeljko Milenic, from the Bureau for International Cooperation and European Integrations.
