New volunteers in the Serbian Armed Forces
The fifth generation of young people who have opted for voluntary military service arrived today in the barracks of the Serbian Armed Forces in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.
The first training centre in Sombor barracks "Airport" admitted 142 boys and 20 girls, who, after medical examinations and putting on military uniforms were assigned to units of this centre. The youngest generation of soldiers was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Lazar Ostojic, the unit commander. According to him, experienced and highly professional officers and soldiers, and all the material resources that the centre posesses, including shooting ranges and a number of exercise sites, are fully prepared to enable this generation of soldiers on voluntary military service to successfully overcome all the challenges of the military vocation.
In the centres for basic training, soldiers will gain knowledge and skills in the tactical, fire, machinery and physical training. After basic training, soldiers, based on military occupational specialties, will be referred to centres for specialized training.
Just like in the past, in this generation as well, many of the newly arrived soldiers have already expressed their desire to become professional soldiers.
