Promotion of new reserve Second Lieutenants



The graduation ceremony for the students of the School for Reserve Officers of the Military and the Military Medical Academy, class of "September 2012", was held today at the plateau in the barracks "General Jovan Miskovic" in Belgrade.

Head of the School of National Defense Colonel Mile Jelic presented the awards to the best reserve lieutenants of that generation. These are Dejan Zivkovic, 96th Class of telecommunications services, who graduated with a GPA 9.76, then Milan Blagojevic, 100th class quartermaster service (9.64) and Slobodan Atlija, 99th class of the technical services (9.54).

The average grade of the class "September 2012" is 8.59, and the total number of reserve officers who have been promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenants is 66, namely 42 at the Military Academy and 24 at the Military Academy.

Colonel Jelic welcomed the participants and commended the reserve officers for their work and the results achieved in the course of their training.

- Training of Reserve Officers is of particular importance for the defense system, especially for the Army of Serbia, from the aspect of ensuring complete preparation for the defense of the country. We are aware that knowledge and education are irreplaceable value of a country, its security defense system, a reserve officer education increases the potential for our country to face the many challenges of today, as the chief of the School for National Defence said, adding that the training of reserve officers has always aroused attention among young men who have acquired higher education in our society.

The top of his class student, reserve second lieutenant Dejan Zivkovic addressed the audience and said that as of today he is wearing the emblem of rosette denoting affiliation to Serbian Army right next to his heart.

- My father always told me that life is a struggle and we know that, regardless of the situation we may find ourselves, we will be able to show our worth, and that we deserve the rosette. I want to assure you that we will always rise to the challenge, regardless of the dangers and difficulties. We shall always remain alert, we shall keep our composure we will be very devoted at all times. I promise I will justify your trust and we will never forget the oath and the military honor, because honor is our property, said Zivkovic and thanked teachers, friends and families for their support.

In addition to family and friends of reserve officers, the ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as lecturers from the Military Academy.
