First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with Defence Minister Thomas de Mézière in Berlin today.

This is the first official meeting of defense ministers of the two countries after 11 years.

During the meeting both sides also talked about the import of machines for defense industry, something which has not been possible so far. De Mézières stressed that this idea in the new circumstances will be considered.

The two ministers also discussed joint participation in multinational operations, in units of the flag of the EU and the UN.

Furthermore, the topic of talks was the situation in Kosovo, then the integration of Serbia to EU and the need for economic progress of Serbia, as well as the connection between these three processes.

German Defence Minister expressed his satisfaction with the work of Serbian government in the past seven months, in particular the results in the fight against corruption.

"Setting the date would be an important signal to our citizens," as Vucic stated, stressing that the atmosphere during the meeting was positive.
