Honorary salvo to celebrate the National day of Serbia



On occasion of marking the 15th February - Day of the Republic of Serbia today at the Sava terrace in the Kalemegdan fortress an honorary salvo with 10 volley from six artillery weapons was fired.

The salvo which was performed by the Honorary Guard Battalion of the Army of Serbia, was attended by Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic with members of his staff.

Serbia celebrates national day on one of great Christian holidays-Michaelmas by marking the anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising led by Karadjordje. On the same day, in 1835 the first Constitution of the Serbian principality, known as Sretenje constitution,was adopted which defined Serbia as an independent principality divided into districts, counties and municipalities.
