Bilateral military cooperation plan with Slovenia signed



Head of the International Military Cooperation Colonel Ljubomir Nikolic and Defence Attaché of Slovenia to Serbia Colonel Anthony Tunja today signed a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2013.

Defense cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia has been continuously carried out successfully, in 2012 characterized by high-level visits. Meetings of the CHODs and deputy CHODs of the two armies will contribute to specification of existing and exploring new areas of cooperation at military-military level, with the aim of improving operational capabilities.

In the field of military education cooperation has seen significant progress. A member of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia is participating in command-staff training in the Republic of Slovenia in the academic year 2012/13. Representatives of the Slovenian Armed Forces attended the security and defense studies college at the Military Academy.

Priority areas for future cooperation are to exchange experiences in establishing NCO corps, military cooperation between archives, military educational institutions and the establishment of cooperation in the area of budgeting and financing.
