Meeting between the Assistant Minister of Defence and Rear Admiral Montgomery
Meeting between the Assistant Minister of Defence and Rear Admiral Montgomery Assistants Minister for Defence Policy and Material Resources, Miroslav Jovanovic and Jasminka Todorov, met today with US EUCOM J-5 Deputy Director Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery who is on a one-day farewell visit to Serbia.
The talks were held about the achieved level and the results of bilateral military cooperation, as well as directions for further development and enhancement, with emphasis on the realization of the main projects, such as the development of the "South" Base, the organization of joint exercises and training, modernization and equipping of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as education and advancement of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces through the IMET programme.
The interlocutors agreed that there are many opportunities to further promote the cooperation, especially in areas related to training and equipping of the declared Serbian Armed Forces units, the development of the Centre for Serbian Armed Forces Lessons Learned and the support from the European Command and the Ohio National Guard for the development of the chaplains service in the Serbian Armed Forces.Representatives of the Ministry of Defence thanked Rear Admiral Montgomery for the previous cooperation and wished him success in his future life and work on the new duties.
