General Bjelica receives the delegations of financial, construction and engineering services



Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army Major General Milan Bjelica received today the delegation of engineering, construction, and financial services on the occasion of the upcoming holiday, the day of the service.

The delegation was led by Colonel Engineering Milorad Djokic, River Flotilla Deputy Commander and Chairman of the Council of Engineering Branch.

At the head of the delegation of financial services was Col. Milos Miletic, chief of the General Staff of the Department of Finance, while the delegation of the construction services was led by Colonel Milan Sladoje from the General Directorate of Logistics.

Engineering Day is marked on the sixth November. That day, in 1865 , in the Principality of Serbia, the Law on Amending the Law on the regulation of the army from from1864 was passed, when pontoon units were separated from the artillery and formed a separate branch – the branch of Engineering.

The day of financial services is marked on the 8th November. On that day in 1944, the financial department was under the command of the Trustee of National Defense, which became the governing body of financial services for the entire People's Liberation Army. At the same time financial services were established in all commands. In this way the financial services had for the first time in the organization of the army legally constituted as a separate service.

The Day of Construction Services is marked on the 8yh November. That day, on the International Day of urbanism, is the day when Serbia accepted as the Day of urbanism. The role of urban planning in military construction can be seen in defining and harmonizing the general needs of the defense system. The special importance of the role the area entails space planning within military bases, by defining the basic elements of the defense infrastructure, in terms of function, economics, aesthetics.
