3rd CISM and 1st Serbian Armed Forces Half Marathon Championship held



Within the 17th ASICS Danube half marathon, 3rd Regional CISM and 1st SAF Half Marathon Championship were held in Apatin. Sixty-three championship military marathon runners from the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and the Netherlands, along with around three hundred competitors in Danube Half Marathon Competition, started in front of the Junakovic Spa. The 21,097 meters long track led to Apatin, along part of the city streets and round to the finish line – Junakovic Spa.

In the scoring of the 3rd CISM Regional Military Championship in the men's competition, the first place went to John Cumming (Netherlands) before Pieter Van Beekveld (Netherlands) and Supan Zaim (BiH), while in the women’s competition the brilliant one was Mariana Cegar Lukic (Serbia) before Amelies Homa (Netherlands) and Nevena Jovanovic (Serbia). In the team standings of men’s competition the best result was achieved by the team of the Armed Forces of theNetherlands followed by the Serbian Armed Forces and the Macedonian Armed Forces. In the team standings for the women’s competiton, the first place was won by the Serbian Armed Forces, followed by the teams of the Netherlands and Bulgaria.

In the ranking of nations, marathon runners from the Dutch Air Forces climbed on the podium, the second was the Serbian Armed Forces and the third Bulgarian Armed Forces.

In the scoring for the 1st Serbian Armed Forces Championship in Half Marathon, in men's competition, the first place went to Dejan Popovic before Mirko Stankovic and Aleksandar Nesevski. In the women's competition, the best one was Mariana Cegar Lukic before Nevena Jovanovic and Natasa Culafic.
