Cooperation with Azerbaijan
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Nikolic held talks with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Araz Azimov.State Secretary Nikolic informed the guest of the strategic goals of Serbia in relation to European integrations.
Azimov informed Nikolic on Azerbaijani positions on the major geopolitical issues and on the situation in the region. He stressed the friendship between the two countries and the expectation that he would soon be signed on friendly relations and strategic partnership.
State Secretary Nikolic stated that we are interested in developing cooperation in all fields of defense, and that, in order to create a legal framework for future cooperation, the Ministry of Defence will in the future send the Azerbaijan side a draft agreement on cooperation in the defense field.Nikolic also offered cooperation in the military-economic and military-medical field, education and training of Azerbaijani personnel in the Military Medical Academy and the University of Defence in cooperation with relevant institutions in Azerbaijan.
