DRG meeting



The regular meeting of the Serbia - NATO Defense Reform Group was held today in the House of Guards in Topcider. The meeting was led by Deputy Minister for Defence Miroslav Jovanovic.

The meeting was attended by representatives of NATO, led by the Director of Directorate for Planning of NATO forces Frank Boland, as co-chairman of the Group, representatives of the NATO Military Liaison Office, foreign military representatives of NATO, the "Partnership for Peace" and the EU, accredited to the Republic of Serbia (24 representatives of NATO, the EU and the "Partnership for Peace" and representatives of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Army of Serbia, as well as heads and deputy heads of working tables as part of the Serbia - NATO Defense Reform Group.

The focus of the meeting was presenting activities of the working tables in the period July - October 2012. Both sides assessed the current activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in all areas as very successful.

Furthermore, the mutual need was stressed the activities of working tables within the Serbia - NATO Defense Reform Group be included in mandatory content of upcoming plans for future international cooperation include

Concluding the meeting, based on the final review of the implementation of the activities on the Serbia - NATO Defense Reform Group, Deputy Minister Miroslav Jovanovic pointed out progress made in the work of the Group, as well as the belief that the future work and activities would be carried out with the support of NATO countries, the "Partnership for Peace" and the EU member states, as a function of achieving the goals will be in line with the framework of the "Partnership for Peace".
