Visit of the Nordic Initiative Working Group



The Delegation of the Nordic Initiative Working Group visited the Career Change Directorate, of the Department for tradition, veterans and standards, Ministry of Defence, Republic of Serbia. The aim of the four-day visit is the presentation of the draft evaluation of the "NCO Training Center," as well as a tour for participants of the 15th retraining session and a paying a visit to successful users of the Directorate for a career change.

The delegation of the Nordic Initiative Working Group: Project Manager Berit Manson Hoepfner and Kirsten Dahl from the Kingdom of Denmark, and representative of the Norwegian MoD Jakob Heradstveit, visited the 15th training course for career change in Belgrade and Aleksandar Jeremic from Cacak who turned to agriculture after leaving the army.

Chief of the Department for Tradition, Standards and Veterans, Colonel Sladjan Ristic welcomed the guests, emphasizing the importance of the project in career change for noncommissioned officers, soldiers and civilians. Colonel Ristic said that during the 15th cycle of retraining of the “NCO Training Center "in Belgrade was currently in progress with 83 attendees in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, who will thus acquire new knowledge and skills necessary for further social reintegration into civil society. On this occasion, Colonel Ristic pointed out the possibility of cooperation in the field of human resource management in the defense system.


Thanks to the project "NCO Training Center" so far 1096 persons in this category have been retrained, 65.1 percent of whom have found employment.

Evaluation of the project "Training Center NCO" and 15th training cycle should have finished by the end of November 2012 and the results of the Project will be officially presented to the public in early March 2013.
