152nd anniversary of the death of Prince Milos Obrenovic marked



In the Saborna Church in Belgrade the 152nd anniversary of the death of Prince Milos Obrenovic was marked today with state and military honors.

Wreaths were laid at the Cathedral by SAF members, and after the service Serbian Patriarch addressed the present.

"With his courage prince Milos merged the art and craft of ruling, and after King Milutin’s reign he is considered the biggest builder and restorer of Serbian churches and monasteries. Let him rest in eternal glory, "the patriarch said.

The celebration was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Army of Serbia, the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Prince Milos Obrenovic ruled from 1815 to 1839 and from 1858 to 1860, and leader of the Second Serbian Uprising was elected on 23 April 1815, in Takovo near Gornji Milanovac.
