Pilot of the SAF Technical Test Center Major Goran Savic died of injuries sustained during the crash of LASTA aircraft in Nova Pazova.

The other pilot, Lt. Col. Tomislav Becagovic of the Technical Test Center of the Serbian Army has sustained minor injuries, is fully aware and conscious, exhibiting no signs of internal bleeding or fractures, and is not in any life danger.

The pilots were on a regular technical aircraft test flight.

Major Goran (Mijailo) Savic was born on 5 December 1973 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He has been in the army since 27 September 1997 and in the Technical Testing Center TOC since 13 July 2011.

He was married and the father of two sons. He lived in Belgrade.

Plane “LASTA” type V-54, No. 201 was introduced into the Serbian Army as of 18 June 2012 when Utva factory delivered first planes. The plane has so far made 39 hours and 50 minutes of flight time.
