Workshop on BULCOD use ends

A three-member delegation of the National Codification Bureau of the Ministry of Defence of Bulgaria, led by Colonel Stojan Kunin, implemented a workshop on the use of the software codification of BULCOD. Ten codifiers from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Army passed advanced training in the offices of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Codification of the Defense Technologies Department, Sector for Material Resources. During the workshop views on the implementation of the achieved level of NATO codification system and upcoming activities were exchanged.

In 2010 Bulgarian Defense Ministry donated to the Ministry of Defence of Serbia BULCOD software used in five countries. To date, Serbia has fulfilled the conditions as a sponsored non-NATO country for admission to a higher membership level (Tier - 2) in the NATO Codification Committee AC/135. Serbia submitted the application for a higher level of membership to NAMSA agency, so the aptitude test using the codification system will be implemented by the end of this year and early next year. Thus Serbia would become the 10th country which performs codification independently of assets together with Russia, Brazil, Australia, Austria and other countries.

Therefore, the training of codifiers of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and codification, VTI and the Central Logistics Base is being given great importance. In the future cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Bulgaria will continue through the work of the TRICOD group dealing with codifying the armaments of Eastern origin, and there will be a joint meeting of the five countries which use the aforementioned software.
