Minister Vucic received with state honors in Berlin
First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic was welcomed yesterday with full state honors, hymns and solemn intonation battalion by Parliamentary State Secretary Christian Schmidt on behalf of the Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany.During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Defence talks focused on bilateral cooperation, cooperation within the framework of the Partnership for Peace and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
"We have achieved a significant level of agreement on all issues," Vucic said, adding that cooperation between the two countries in the defense field is satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in areas of mutual interest."Germany is Serbia’s most important strategic partner," Vucic reiterated after meeting with Schmidt.
Minister Vucic and State Secretary Schmidt agreed that both sides should focus on working on issues of common security and defense policy.
The legal framework for cooperation between Serbia and Germany was established in 2006 with the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of defense.
