Workshop on procurement and management
In the Department for Material Resources workshops in the field of managing equipping units with weapons and military equipment started today.The third workshop in 2012, and the fourth in a series of lectures entitled Contract management for new weapons and equipment ("Management Contract") will be held from 27 to 31 August. The workshop presenters are from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, United States, Michael Rudiger, Glotfelti Barbara and Tom Hervey, who were engaged by the Centre for Civil-Military Relations.
Based on earlier agreements reached at the meetings of the Serbia - United States, Joint Committee regarding defense reform issues, in 2012 the plan envisions holding such workshops.
Workshop participants will be discussing contracting process during the implementation procurement process. The Defence Technologies Department of the Material Resources Sector is organizing the seminar with 23 participants from organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces attending the workshops, all of whom are professionally associated with the procurement of weapons and military equipment.This workshop seminar will show the complexities of contract management, important aspects and stages in defense procurement, from market research to contract drafting and negotiation, down to contract management.
