Final flight preparations for "Batajnica 2012" air show



At Batajnica air field today final flight preparations of SAF air force were held today, for participation at the international air show "Batajnica 2012" on 2 September.

According to Brigadier General Predrag Bandic, commander of the 204th Aviation Brigade, and air show commander, the programme variety and enthusiasm of the participants will represent the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Defense and the Army, in the best possible manner despite high temperatures and harsh working conditions, which characterized today's preparation.

"Attractive varied program, different aircrafts for different purposes, in acrobatic, as well as in flight part of the programme which will show tasks and missions of the is what viewers will be able to see on 2 September and therefore should not miss this year's air show, "said General Bandic, noting that the air show is significant for another thing as this year the Serbian air force marks its centennial – a jubilee that few countries in the world can boast of.

The organizers paid special attention to security aspects of the participants and spectators, providing highest standards for maximum security as one of the imperatives for the upcoming program.

"The preparations are going as planned. And this year, based on experience from previous air shows, all measures to avoid any mistakes is providing traffic safety. In cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the city’s government the publication of "Airport traffic support scheme", which will assist guests to freely attend air show, "said Bandic recommedning the citizens to use Beovoz, Belgrade railways..

According to Major Bosko Serbedzija, a member of the 252nd aviation squadron, the aircrafts of the unit "Super Galeb G4" and "Lasta" will be presented in two sequences at the air show- in the grand parade, but also in the part with combat and tactical operations, as a support to ground forces. A total of seven air aircrafts type G4, including six in the tactical performance, and in one solo program.

"Four “Orao” planes and four helicopters "Gazelles" will carry out tasks identical to those performed by troops into combat purposes, in support of ground forces, while “Gazelle" helicopters will have a special sequence," said Lt. Col. Dejan Vasiljevic Deputy Commander of the 98th aviation brigade, explaining the program the visitors will see on 2 September.

Major Milomir Miljkovic, member of the 101 fighter aircraft squadron and deputy commander for interception, shooting, bombing and rocket attacks, said that the show will feature an unusual part in initial part of the air battle when 2 MiG-29 will be set against MiG 21s.Besides in this section, MiG air crafts will participate in the parade of our aviation aircraft at the beginning of the program.

For the whole programme to function flawlessly, the staff in logistics section gave significant contribution, as they, according to Lt. Col. Slavisa Pavlovic, assistant commander of the 204th Aviation Support Brigade, started early this year with preparations for this air show.
