"Humanitarian assistance" project in Kraljevo completed
Members of the Ohio National Guard left the Kraljevo today after successfully completing the project "Humanitarian Assistance" which they realized with members of the Second Brigade of the Army.The project included the renovation and restoration of the gym of the Elementary School "Svetozar Markovic", damaged in an earthquake in late 2010, performed by 32 members of the Ohio National Guard from Ohio and 20 other members of the brigade.
During the twenty days of active work and socializing, members of the two armies made good friends. Ohio National Guard Lt. Roger Nuremberg thanked everyone, especially members of the Second Brigade, with whom they collaborated in recent weeks, for wonderful hospitality and a pleasant stay in Kraljevo.
Cooperation with the Serbian army was better than I expected. We had excellent communication, we had three translators, and everyone did their best to provide us with what we needed. We worked hard and diligently and enjoyed beautiful weather, although it was hot, but we were lucky that it was not raining. We completed work on time every day and in the evening we would take a walk through the city, said Lt. Nunberg and added that he would return to Kraljevo if needed.Yesterday, the Members of the Ohio National Guard played a friendly football match with members of the Kraljevo-based American football team, "the Crown"
The renovation of the gym project was a 300, 000 USD worth, which was donated by the European Command of US armed forces and the investor of the works was the U.S. Embassy.
the opening of the gym is scheduled for 3rd September.
