Training of medical experts of the OPCW Inspectorate

Annex D-4 of the Technical Agreement providing for the continued training of staff of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) at the Military Medical Academy was signed between the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and the Technical Secretariat of the organization.

The agreement was signed by the military representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Serbia to OPCW in The Hague Prof. Zoran Segrt and Director of the Inspectorate of that organization Julian Tangere.

Training of medical experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons will be continued at the Military Medical Academy, from October to December 2012. During the new cycle of education, the representatives (OPCW) will improve practical skills in early diagnosis, first aid and prehospital care of the acutely intoxicated, injured and sick, in order to be ready for the challenges during the missions in carrying out inspections of chemical weapons worldwide.

The realization of these aspects of education shows the continuity of successful cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the field of implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction, and represents another in a series of activities in this area that contribute to the promotion of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the international level.
