SAF helps in cleaning Serbia

Members of the Army of Serbia and this year took an active part in the "Spring Cleaning of Serbia", which is organizing the third time in the campaign "Clean Serbia". The campaign organized by the Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Mining, on the occasion of World Environment Day, soldiers and officers of the Serbian Army were engaged in cleaning waste in Belgrade, Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, Pozarevac, Pancevo, Zajecar, Krusevac, Bela Crkva, Zrenjanin, Vrsac, Kikinda, Ecka, Zrenjanin, Vladimirovci, Gornji Milanovac and elsewhere in Serbia.

According to Colonel Zvonimir Pesic, head of the civil-military cooperation of the Army of Serbia, at 113 locations throughout Serbia some two thousand soldiers were engaged. They were engaged in the most vulnerable locations within the local self-governments s and in the Serbian Army objects, noting that such actions were in the spirit of the Army, and that its members will in future support similar campaigns.

In Belgrade, the Serbian Army members helped to clean up the banks and river beds of the Sava and Danube Rivers in Usce, of Topciderka in Topciderski park and also helped clean Cubura park and the park around the Temple of Saint Sava.

"We agreed with local authorities on engaging SAF capacities in collecting and transporting garbage. This is one of the largest engagements of our members in this action, during which we established good cooperation with local government representatives, "said Colonel Pesic.

Members of the Army contributed to "the big cleaning of Serbia" in Prokuplje and Vranje as well, where people worked on the cleaning of municipal landfills. In Bujanovac, the students helped the cleaning of schools in Nis and Krusevac as well as clearing riverbeds, and of military facilities.

In cooperation with local authorities in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, Pancevo, Belgrade, Pozarevac, Zajecar and Krusevac, some 600 members of the Training Command, together with citizens, cleaned the public area, and cleaned and the areas within the barracks. In Sombor the members of the 1st training center for cleaning and fencing the area around the barracks, "Airport". In Valjevo the members of the 2nd training center for cleaning the barracks and the riverbed of the Ljubostinja River and 2.brigade Army members were engaged in Brankovini.

In cooperation with the City Administration of Public Health and Environment and Public Utility Company "Komunalac" in Leskovac the members of the 3 training center cleaned the wild landfill around the Svetoilijsko cemetery. In total about 20 tons of various waste have been cleaned and transported, where in addition to personnel, trucks and SUVs were used as well.

In Pozarevac 80 members of the Center for Army training cycle and cleaner environment around the barracks and the Command Center as well as some isolated object Zabel. Over 150 bags of garbage and four trucks of various waste have been collected.

In Belgrade, the members of the Training Command area were engaged on cleaning up in several locations. Besides Topcider barracks, along with members of the Guard Brigade, and links to citizens and City workers cleaned the green space across from the restaurant and Milosev konak restaurant.

In Batajnica the campaign was organized in collaboration with members of the 204th aviation brigade. The ground next to barracks, in the territory between the Military Institute " Moma Stanojlovic " and settlements Nova Pazova were cleaned. Members of the development command of the Belgrade brigade cleaned the barracks and the spaces around the barracks in Jakovo and Obrenovac, and shooting ground Bubanj Potok

Members of the Command for the development of Banat brigade cleaned the barracks in Pancevo and separate objects in the White Church, Zrenjanin, Vrsac, Kikinda, E?ka, Zrenjanin and Vladimirovci. In Gornji Milanovac nearly 50 members of the Training link, information technology and electronic warfare have cleaned the barracks Duke Radomir Putnik, Ivi?ki stream located near the elementary school and divisional structures Alvadžinica, and Kulinovci Atenica. Done is separating and sorting recyclable materials from waste for recycling.

Furthermore, Members of the development command of Timocka Brigade in cooperation with local governments in Zajecar, cleaned Vanya gap on the Crni Timok, drains and channels around the barracks "Nikola Pasic" and certain facilities in Knjazevac, Bor, and Lubnica and Karbulov.

In Krusevac, in cooperation with the City Administration and the PUC members of the garrison were engaged in cleaning the barracks and of the separate facilities at two locations in the city, and to the region Garskog stream and the polygon Ravnjak.

Members of the Training Command once again demonstrated high level of awareness of the need to preserve natural resources and the environment in general and their self-sacrificing and devoted work have contributed to this action.

More than 1100 members of the Army of the Serbian Army is now involved in the "Spring Cleaning of Serbia". During the works thirteen vehicles for transportation of garbage, five boats, two tugboats, one outboard motor and two dozers were used.

Members of the Second Brigade of the Army took part in the action by engaging in Kraljevo and Raska and Novi Pazar and the arrangement near the monastery of "Sopocani".

The third brigade of its personnel engaged in Nis garrison in arranging settlements Vrezina, broad slopes and Ribnik, while in garrison Zajecar were focused on the work in the settlement Podliv.

Officers and soldiers of the Third Brigade of the garrison in Prokuplje performed extensive work on cleaning of illegal dumps in Novo Selo and Novi Bozurni, and members of the unit from Kursumlija garrison are mostly clearing the area around the barracks "Toplicki ustanak." Members of the Mixed Artillery Brigade, together with members of the City organization and the Red Cross Elementary School students "Ivo Andric" cleans the beds of Hum and Rujnicki stream.

Officers and soldiers of the Fourth Army Brigade were engaged in Vranje and Bujanovac, where he worked on arranging the environment of two elementary and one high school. The members of the 246th RCBD battalion also finished cleaning the Ravnjacki stream with local community residents of Lazarica municipality while the staff of TRZ "Cacak" were engaged on cleaning the area around "Slovas" company.
