7th sesion of the Defense University Senate



The University of Defense Chancery held the seventh regular session of the Senate, chaired by the rector of the defense university, Lt. Gen. prof. Dr Miodrag Jevtic. The meeting examined and adopted the general laws of the jurisdiction of the Senate and adopted conclusions on many current issues of importance to the functioning of the University of Defence.

At the session, the members of the Senate adopted a methodological guide for the tuition of education at the University of Defence and the Decision on establishing the proposed for tuition fees for studies organized in higher units of the University of Defence in Belgrade in the school year 2012/2013. After tuition fees are approved by organizational units of MoD the proposal will be further submitted to the University Council for adoption.

Guidelines adopted for the tuition fees of education in a uniform manner establish the standards and criteria for determining the elements that make up the cost structure of higher education units within the University. This guideline has made significant contribution to the normative activities within the academic community in the Republic of Serbia.

The Chancellor of the University of Defence, General Jevtic expressed on that occasion his satisfaction with the degree of seriousness, professionalism and efficiency of the working group which establishes a uniform methodology for determining the cost of schooling.

During the session, the University Senate accepted the recommendation of the Expert Council for Social and Human Sciences and adopted the conclusion that the Commission approve the proposed composition of the election to the position of teacher at the Military Academy University of Defence for specialized scientific field of strategy.

Furthermore, the Decision on formation and composition of the Commission for the drafting of the Criteria for assessing the effectiveness of scientific research at the University of Defence.

The recommendations of the Expert Council for the Humanities and Social Studies were also adopted as well as the conclusion that the Strategic Planning Department would appoint one person not employed by the University of Defence as a member of the Commission for the drafting of the Criteria for assessing the effectiveness of scientific research at the University as a Defence and that a designated person must have a title of researcher.

Members of the Senate adopted a decision on the format and content of the diploma and diploma supplement issued by the Military Academy of the University of Defence to cadets upon completing basic studies. Another conclusion was on the legal interpretation of Section 14 for the criteria for obtaining tenure at the University of Defense relating to the beginning of the application criteria.

The Senate accepted the initiative of the Military Academy University of Defense to initiate the procedure for amending the Ordinance for civilians starting education in military schools.
