Central Military Club, Military Museum and Air Force Museum



As in previous years, and in this year's "Museum Night" art lovers were able to enjoy the rich variety of Media Center "defense", the Military Museum in Kalemegdan and the Museum of Yugoslav Air Force in Surcin.

According to Lt. Col. Slavoljub Markovic, Director of Media Center's "Odbrana" except the military representative exhibition of paintings Save Sumanovic "The lst decade", visitors were able to see "Sava Sumanovic - personal, familial, national" in the subject of documentary and constructed photography learn about the life of the artist and his family.

Just this evening, guests of the Central Military Club were able to see a unique photography exhibition "Memories from the army." The exhibition consists of motifs from the military on that in a humorous and nostalgic way reflect the time in which they occur, the pride of the soldiers in this period of life and creativity of local photographers. The setting includes hundreds of photographs from the private collection of Zoran Zivkovic, and visitors are able to immortalize their cameras' memory from the army "in the way they did it the old photographs using photo-boards.

The Central Military Club was again open to all those who decided to spend Saturday night in the spirit of the slogan of this year's event - great fun in museums! Particular attention was drawn to the so-called "carved salon" where there are exhibits exceptional artistic merit - dining table, chairs without handle, two-piece glass display cases, big and small Servan, authentic višekraki magnificent chandelier, decorated with carving in full and bas relief sculptures, and decorative covers for radiators. In the exhibition galleries of the Army visitors could see a new permanent exhibition of art works from the collection of the Media Center's "Odbrana", which to date are generally not exposed, a museum night was made even more richer by a performance in the gallery of the Army of special artistic ensemble "Stanislav Binicki"

From the terrace of the Military Museum at exactly 18 o'clock trumpets announced the beginning of "Museum Night" and traditional and cultural institutions to participate in the evening's events. In addition to traditional open permanent exhibition, the Military Museum visitors this year's "Night of Museums" met with an exhibition of old weapons of Asia - an exhibition of objects from the collections of non European weapons and equipment. The setting includes weapons and military equipment of Japan, China, India and Indonesia, and other than the objects themselves, weapons and equipment, visitors could learn more about the warrior spirit, mentality and traditions of those countries. The Military Museum in the exhibition are displayed and the Japanese art of fencing and the Japanese art of forging edged weapons, and Belgrade kendo club "Makoto" demonstrated kendo and iaido swordsmanship.

At the front of the museum, visitors participated in the officer's Ball organized by the Military Academy cadets to show the personality of the officers in the manner in which once built a prominent officer class.

The Yugoslav Air Force Museum in Surcin, the extraordinary permanent exhibition of large aircraft, the repertoire were the miniature museum - scale models of aircraft structures and models of airplanes, gliders and helicopters. A special place in the Museum Night was won by just modellers. In addition to being exhibited their works in miniature, they are on-site made aircraft models, and thus attract the most attention of visitors. Premiere is tonight and the team presented the modellers from the airport "Batajnica" model makers of the 204th aviation brigade, which had recently become a full member Association of Serbian Model Makers.

As a continuation of the story begun in the Museum Night, Museum of Aviation on Monday 21st May, opens the exhibition "Century Serbian military aviation in miniature", the centenary Serbian Air Force and the Aviation Museum Day.

The House of the Army of Serbia in Novi Sad, on the occasion of the "Museum Night" opened the exhibition entitled "Military facilities in Novi Sad on the boundary states and armies," prepared by the Historical Archives of Novi Sad. Through a variety of carefully selected authentic documents and photographs of the authors of the exhibition Dusko Pantelic and Sinisa Jokic were able to tell an interesting and until now almost unknown historical stories of the present barracks in Novi Sad, "Vojvoda Bojovica" (1895.), "Archibald Rice" (1894-95). " Jugovicevo "(1913.), Army House (1924). and building commands the First Brigade (1925).
