"Hummers" soon to be delivered
The U.S. factory "AM General", is soon to finish the production of 21 armored vehicles, "Hummer," which will be delivered to the Serbian Army.Complete donation is the result of agreement of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and the U.S. Secretary of Defense, which was launched by the Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac during a visit to the U.S. in August last year.
It is expected that first vehicles will arrive in our country during the summer, and the primary idea of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army is that the vehicles are used to equip the Special Brigade and unit undergoing training for deployment in peace operations.
Professional and administrative support in delivering vehicles provided by the Office of Defense Representative, Office of Defense Cooperation in the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, while the funds for the procurement of armored vehicles was done with the assistance provided by the Serbian Army won the American Fund for International assistance (FMF).U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Vladimir Petrovic visited the plant factory "AM General" located in the State of Indiana, during which its representatives expressed interest in visiting the Kragujevac factory "Zastava Vozila" as a potential partner in the production of "Hummer" in Europe.
