Prosecutor's office works on the case of RTS bombing
The spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor’s Office Tomo Zoric told Tanjug news agency that the prosecutor's office is handling the case of the NATO bombing of Radio Television Serbia and the death of 16 workers and media outlets on 23rd April 1999, noting that there is no fear that the matter would become obsolete.
According to him, the Ministry of Defence has fully complied with the prosecutor’s office instructions and submitted all required documentation pertaining to that event.
"Establishing the truth is our priority to the prosecution and the steps being taken in this direction. Prosecutor's Office takes into account the period after which the case might become obsolete and there is no fear that the subject will be obsolete," said Zoric.
The NATO bombing on 23rd April 1999 killed 16 RTS employees, and for not taking the necessary measures for their safety, the former RTS director Dragoljub Milanovic was sentenced to 10 years in prison and he will be released in September this year.
