Skiing competition for World Military Championship in Skiing



A sports competition was held in Kopaonik in order to select the team of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia that will represent our country at the 52nd World Military Skiing Championship to be held from 19 to 24 March, in Kranjska Gora in Slovenia.

In Alpine skiing, in the discipline giant slalom for men, the winner was Captain Daniel Pesic from the Military Medical Academy, second place went to Lieutenant Darko Jeremic, a member of the 333rd Air Force Engineering Brigade, while the third place went to Milos Sumarac a cadet from the Military Academy.

In the giant slalom competition, the women's category, the winner was Jelena Jerkic a cadet of the Military Academy, the second place went to sergeant Radmila Djuric from the Special Brigade of the Army, while the Miljana Mitrovic a cadet from the Military Academy came in third.

In Nordic skiing (cross country ski in 5000 meters) Sergeant Igor Vukovic from the Guard, second place went to Capt. Milovan Milic from the Special Brigade, while the third to reach the finishing line was Lieutenant Dragan Lazic, member of the 101st Aviation Air Force Fighter Squadron. In the category of women, in the same discipline, the best was a professional soldier from the 250th Air Force missile brigade Ksenija Bubnjevic.

After the election contest, ski team coaches, Stevo Petkovic and Vojko Rados will choose a wider composition of teams in March that will undergo the final preparations in Kopaonik, after which they will determine the final composition of our team to perform at the World Military Championships in skiing.
