Meeting of Ministers Sutanovac and Portas at the Ambassadors’ Conference



Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Dragan Sutanovac, met today with the Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Portas on the sidelines of the Ambassadors’ Conference in Belgrade.

Minister Sutanovac informed his interlocutor with the reforms implemented in the defence system and plans for the future.

Minister Portas emphasized that Portugal provides strong support for the European integration of Serbia and defence reform, and that he is interested in transferring the experience from the EU Common Defence and Security Policy (CSDP) to Serbia.

The Ministers exchanged their views on the political and security situation in the region and cooperation in the field of defence between Serbia and Portugal. Both sides agreed that it is necessary to improve bilateral military cooperation, especially in the field of military medicine and military education.
