Serbian CISM delegation holds a session

At the Military Academy in Belgrade today held the annual meeting of the Serbian delegation with the International Military Sports Council (CISM). The meeting was attended by the Head of the MoD State Secretary Zoran Jevtic, his deputy, Colonel Branko Boskovic, Colonel Dragan Djini from the Military Academy and Lt. Col. Dragan Todorov, an officer for an international sports in the Department for Military Sports.

CISM is an organization where the members of more than 130 countries are involved in organizing the Olympic, World, European and regional competitions. We have been a member of the CISM since 2003 and during that time we won 51 medals. It was a great success due to the fact that the Serbian competition exclusively has professional soldiers who perform their regular duties, which is not the case with other countries, who are represented by professional athletes - said Zoran Jevtic. He added that the Serbian delegation is one of the most active members of CISM, and that their main goal is physical training and preparation of professional soldiers.

The meeting presented the results of this year, and plan of activities for 2012, while the meetings also focused on discussing the forming of a team that will work on the preparation and implementation of the competition organized by CISM.

The principal activity this year was the participation f our delegation at the 5th world military games in Rio de Janeiro. We organized mountain running in Dimitrovgrad and a semi-marathon in Apatin. In the next year we plan to participate in the second World Youth Games to be held in Russia, as well as several competitions in military pentathlon, including sailing, archery, parachuting, judo - said Colonel Todorov.

After the official part, the delegation held a ceremony where distinguished institutions and individuals with whom the organization has successfully worked during the year were awarded.
