Competition for "Ivan Markovic" journliasm award



This year, the Media Center "Odbrana" will award, "Ivan Markovic" reporters prize for best media coverage of the activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia in 2011. A five member panel of judges will select the award consists of a plaque and a prize of 60,000 RSD.

The goal of this award is to encourage journalists covering the activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army to continue with good reporting in national print and electronic media, public recognition and verification of their work in memory of Ivan Markovic, one of the most talented military reporters and editors at the "Vojska" magazine, a predecessor of today’s Odbrana who suddenly died in 2003 at the age of 43.

All professional journalists working for the media in Serbia, regardless of their formal status can apply for the award. You can send interviews, articles, commentaries, reports, radio and TV programs on the activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army published or broadcast in the media as of 1 January to 31 December 2011. Each applicant may submit one original work.

Applications containing original print text, clippings or photocopies of articles, audio and video recordings are to be submitted by 31 December 2011, in person or by registered mail to the following address: Media Center "Odbrana," 19 Brace Jugovic Street, 11000 Belgrade, addressed to media center and entitled "Journalism award Ivan Markovic."
