Senate of the Defense University established
The Board of the University of Defence today held a meeting at which the Defense University Senate was constituted, and chaired by the Rector of the University of Defence Major General Professor. Dr Miodrag Jevtic. It is the most important body of the higher military institution in charge of the election of teachers, scientific researchers, as well as career guidance for officer at the University of Defence.The Senate has 13 permanent members, including Chancellor Prof. General Dr. Jevtic, Vice- Chancellor prof. Dr. Jan Marcek colonel, colonel prof. Dr. Goran Dikic, and professor. Dr. Mirjana Zivotic-Vanovic, the Dean of the Military Academy, Brigadier General BA. Mladen Vuruna and MMA academic professor Colonel Dr. Miodrag Colic, in it are members of the Scientific - Academic Council VA and MMA.
According to the defense of the Rector Major General Professor Dr Miodrag Jevtic, the Senate of the University of Defence should be the mainstay of scientific research process.During the meeting, General Jevtic briefed members of this newly-formed body of the achievements so far, the phases of the Statute, educational programs, and organization of the Board. He said that they were facing another challenge, and that is the adoption of Law on Higher Education in the defense system.
Speaking about the significance of today's meeting, Vuruna General pointed out that this was a very important day for the Defense University, since the members of that body's first meeting was to work on the development of military education, which is the main task of the Board.At today's session the Rules and Procedures of the |Senate were adopted including the calendar of regular meetings of that body, as well as establishing the University of Defence Day -the 23rd of February which marks the day when the Government of the Republic of Serbia passed a decision to establish military higher education instituions.
