Seminar on strategic defense planning
As part of bilateral military cooperation with the Republic of Austria, the Ministry of Defence, held a seminar on strategic defense planning from 22 to 24 November.The seminar was realized by experts from the Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria, led by Colonel Rudolf Zauner, Head of Department for the development of multi-national concept. The Austrian delegation was received by State Secretary Zoran Jevtic.
The seminar, led by Chief of the Strategic Planning Department for Defence, Major General Bozidar Forca, was attended by about 40 members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia.A five-member expert team from the Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria acquainted the members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia with the procedures of strategic documents and their adaptation to EU requirements, as well as on lessons learned and the necessary capabilities of that the forces need to be at par with EU and NATO standards.
Both sides agreed that there are many similarities in the strategic planning process in the defense of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Austria, and the need for further cooperation in this field.Delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria sent an open invitation to the expert team of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia to visit Austria next year and gain more specific insight into the strategic planning process from the political, through to the level of military units declared for the mission.
